Weekly road running round up! 1 September.

Mark Bolland-Cage hit the roads after a successful track season and took 6 seconds off his 5k PB with 15.28 in the Mid Cheshire 5k on Friday night. The Haxby 10k was staged for the first time on Sunday morning on a very flat course. Steve Wright was first vet 60 in 41.31 as his hamstring just about held toget

her. Tim Pattison came 7^th in 37.35 with Bethany Ellerker just breaking the hour with 59.06.

There was another good turnout of 24 runners at parkrun on Saturday. Simon Bolland-Cage came 1^st on the Knavesmire with 15.50 with Will Torgersen coming 3^rd in 16.49. Jamie Walker came 1^st at Heslington in 16.20. Jon Blake came 2^nd at Great Yarmouth in 25.03, that sounds like a slow time to come 2^nd at parkrun but Great Yarmouth parkrun is run entirely on a beach which is strength sapping and slow. India Ibbotson came 3^rd at Middleton Woods in 25.34.

There were veteran age group wins for Allan Scott, Tim Pattison, Mike Raynes, Dave Lancaster and Steve Wright with a junior age group win for Ben Walker.
