Weekly round up 27/10

A quiet week for the club’s distance runners with no club event taking place nor an obvious local road race.

Jessica Robertson-Dover, Niamh McLoughlin, Jodo Bemand and Jack Haynes helped University of York come 2^nd in the mixed team category at the Manchester Relays on Saturday. Ed Brown also ran at this event for Birmingham University.

Lucy Davey ran 19.26 at last Wednesday’s Leeds University 5k.

Nigel Taylor ran 50.07 in Sunday’s Haltemprice 10k at Hull.

The absence of more formal races meant that the club had a high turnout of 28 runners at parkrun over the weekend. Ben Walker came 1^st at Haldon Forest in Devon In 18.49 with Angharad Pryce coming 2^ndat Brixworth in Northamptonshire in 22.07. There were veteran age group wins for Dave Lancaster, Allan Scott and Jon Blake with junior age group wins for Caleb Proudlove and Freddie Clayton. Noah Stipetic and Thomas Douthwaite were 1^st and 2^nd in the York Junior Parkrun with Joesphine Lowson being the 1^st girl.
